College Football Picks- Week 0 2026

Sacramento State @ Eastern Michigan (Saturday, 5:30 PM Central)

This is likely going to be my biggest bet on an individual game all season. It should be no surprise if you read my MAC preview, as I like Eastern Michigan this year and think Sacramento State sucks. For those not familiar, the Sacramento State situation is a complete mess- they decided after the portal window from FCS to FBS. They don't have enough scholarship players for FBS, they have a new coach, and they don't have money. Eastern Michigan, on the other hand, is one of the most experienced teams in the G6 and has a good coach in Chris Creighton. EMU should roll here and I like a play on the alt line as well.

Hawai'i @ Stanford (Saturday, 7 PM Central)

This is the return game of a home-and-home, as Stanford lost at Hawai'i last year. Loyal readers will remember that game as I had Stanford in that one, but they lost in Hawai'i QB Micah Alejado's coming out party. Hopefully this year goes better- I do like Stanford once again this year and think the talent level on their roster is much better than people give it credit for. I will admit I made this bet a few weeks ago and this line is more like 5.5 now, so it's moved a bit in my favor
