College Football Futures Bets and Rooting Guide- Week 7 2026

New Bets

Texas to miss the Playoff +315 (3 units)

I’ve already bet this twice this year, at +150 in the preseason and +330 after the Ohio State game. I’m back for more.

Texas is in good shape to get into the playoff at 9-3 thanks to their win over Ohio State. However, I think there’s a very real chance they finish 8-4 or worse. They will be small underdogs at LSU, around a pick’em at Missouri, and a moderate favorite against Ole Miss and at Texas A&M. They also could lose to Florida or Mississippi State. If they lose 3 of those games, they’re definitely out. I give it a 35% chance or so.

USC to make the Playoff +700 (2 units)

We may have written USC’s death sentence too early. The Trojans are 6-1 and have 5 games left- road trips to Indiana, Wisconsin and UCLA, and home games against Ohio State and Maryland. A 4-1 finish makes them a lock and I think they have some chance with a 3-2 finish (especially if they beat Ohio State). Their defense is poor, but they have a top 5 offense in the sport. I don’t think it’s crazy for them to split the OSU/Indiana games and beat a UCLA team without Nico to squeak into the playoff.

Alabama to miss the Playoff +500 (1 unit)

I got Alabama to make the playoff at -110 before the Mississippi State game, which was excellent. I’m selling out of that exposure here. I think a 9-3 Alabama team is actually in poor shape to make the playoff. If they lose to Tennessee and LSU, their best wins are going to be over Kentucky and Mississippi State. The Tide have a coin flip game at LSU and a few other games they’ll be a 7 to 14 point favorite in (Tennessee, Texas A&M, Auburn). It’s possible they lose 2 more games, at which point they’re in a lot of trouble.

Oklahoma to make the Playoff +600 (1 unit)

We’re quite likely to get a 9-3 team in the playoff this year. Why not Oklahoma? The Sooners would have an “improvement” story to tell as it would mean they got better in the second half of the season, and they have a big win under their belt over Texas. They’re a much better team than people realize- 9th in my ratings after their win over the Longhorns.

Kentucky to make the Playoff +800 (1 unit)

Kentucky will make the playoff with a 5-1 finish. They have 3 home games they’ll be decent favorites in (Vanderbilt, Florida and Louisville), and 3 road games that they’ll be small dogs in (Oklahoma, Tennessee, Missouri). I don’t think a 5-1 finish is likely, but it’s far from impossible.

Georgia State to win the Sun Belt East +1000 (1 unit)

Georgia State to win the Sun Belt +2200 (0.5 units)

Georgia State has been a pleasant surprise this season- they’re 5-0 ATS and have covered 4 of those games by multiple touchdowns. We don’t really know how good they are- they’ve played a bunch of bad G6 teams. They travel to James Madison this week where they’re a +360 underdog. That line seems fair to me. However, if they win that game, they should be the favorite to win the Sun Belt- they’d have beaten their main competition (JMU) on the road and hold the division tiebreaker.

Texas State to win the Pac-12 +1800 (1 unit)

Texas State is a confusing 2-3. In their last game, they had 34 first downs to San Diego State’s 13 and lost. They have one of the best offenses in the G6 and if anyone in the Pac-12 can go shot-for-shot with Boise State, it’s them. This is a team that’s way better than their record.

Utah to make the Playoff Semifinal +1400 (1 unit)

BYU is the highest ranked Big 12 team, but it should clearly be Utah. The Utes are 5-0 straight up and 5-0 ATS. They haven’t played any good teams, but they’re destroying everyone and doing so with their usual physical brand of football.

I like buying wing calls on teams whose upside remains undiscovered. Utah’s probably not a top 5 team in the country, but if they were, this is what their first 5 games would look like.

East Carolina to win the American +1225 (0.5 units)

East Carolina has looked great since switching over to former Miami QB Emory Williams. The American is super murky, and ECU avoids several of the league’s main contenders (UTSA, North Texas). I like a longshot on the Pirates.

Michigan to make the Playoff +7400 (0.25 units)

Michigan is one of those teams that can strangle you to death. The Wolverines will probably go 7-5 or so, but I don’t think a miracle run is out of the cards. They’re still 19th in my rating. This line should be +4000 or so.

Rooting Guide

Nebraska @ Oregon -7.5

Nebraska nearly pulled through for us last week and has another chance at a huge win here. We win 48 units if Nebraska makes the playoff.

Florida Atlantic @ Army -2.5

We win 35 units if FAU wins the American. They’ll join the top tier of league contenders with a road win here.

FIU @ Jacksonville State -3

This is a huge game- these two teams are projected in a tie for 2nd in CUSA behind Liberty. We make 19.5 units if FIU wins CUSA.

Oklahoma State @ Houston -4.5

Our Oklahoma State over 8.5 and 9.5 wins tickets are very alive. This is one of two remaining games they’ll be an underdog in.

Georgia State @ James Madison -12

James Madison should roll here, but as mentioned above, we’ll be cooking with gas if Georgia State pulls the upset.

Florida @ Texas -10.5

We make 15.6 units if Texas misses the playoff. They should cruise here, but if they somehow slip up, we’re really in business.

Wisconsin @ UCLA -2.5

We win 20.5 units if UCLA makes the playoff and 25.5 units if Wisconsin does. UCLA is a lot closer to the playoff and therefore we’re rooting for the Bruins- but a blowout Wisconsin win isn’t bad either.

Western Kentucky -1 @ Sam Houston

We’re long Sam Houston and quite short Western Kentucky. A WKU loss here nearly locks up our Hilltopper shorts.

Cincinnati @ West Virginia -1.5

Our West Virginia under 4.5 wins ticket, which we have at +240, becomes more likely than not if they lose here.

Alabama -8.5 @ Tennessee

Alabama should roll here, but we’re a bit short Alabama to make the playoff and a bit long Tennessee.

East Carolina -4.5 @ UAB

We win 14 units if East Carolina wins the American- this is a prerequisite.

Washington @ Purdue -3.5

We got our Washington under 6.5 wins ticket at +350 and it is worth about -350 now. They’re totally dead and buried if they lose this.

Missouri @ Ole Miss -6

Ole Miss looked really good against Vanderbilt last week, and we need them to lose somewhere as we’re short them to make the playoff.

Ohio State -3.5 @ Indiana

We make 10 units if Indiana misses the playoff and 7.4 units if Ohio State misses the playoff. A blowout one way or the other would be helpful for us here.

San Jose State -7.5 @ UTEP

Our San Jose State under 4.5 wins ticket is in trouble. We need them to lose games like this.
