College Football Futures Bets and Rooting Guide- Week 6 2026

New Bets

Florida to miss the Playoff -150 (4 units)

I bet on Florida to make the Playoff two weeks ago at +245 but am flipping my exposure here. Let’s think about what’s changed since then- the Gators are 1-1, having covered the spread by 3 touchdowns against Ole Miss and having failed to cover the spread by 5 touchdowns against Missouri. That should be a net negative for their playoff chances.

I do think we’ll get a 9-3 SEC team in the playoff this year, but I don’t think it’ll be Florida. I’d bet on that team being LSU or Tennessee instead.

Nebraska to make the Playoff +1450 (1 unit)

I already have 1.5 units to win 33.5 units on Nebraska to make the playoff, but I like it so much I’m adding more. Nebraska is 20th in my ratings, and I might actually be low on them- they’re 12th in SP+. They’re already 5-0, and I feel very good about their chances to get in at 10-2 given that they play Indiana, Ohio State and Oregon. They haven’t played anyone good yet, but they’re 5-0 ATS, and that’s hard to do against any opponents.

Eastern Michigan to win the MAC +1500 (1 unit)

Eastern Michigan put the brakes on the UMass hype train, winning 38-14 in Amherst last week. I liked the Eagles in the preseason and am coming back around on them now. They’re not the best team in the MAC, but they’re middle class. They’re also the only team who’s already 2-0 in the leauge and still get to play minnows Akron and Kent State.

Northwestern to make the Playoff +1300 (0.5 units)

Northwestern ran for 400 yards last week against Penn State. 400 yards! Against Penn State! The Wildcats are going to be a playoff lock at 10-2 given that they lost close to Indiana and still have road trips to Oregon and Ohio State. Pick off one of those big boys and hold serve elsewhere, and they’re in. I don’t think that’s impossible based on what I’ve seen so far from Chip Kelly and crew.

Rooting Guide

If you’ve been betting my picks all season, here are the outcomes you should be rooting for this week. Games are listed in rough order of importance.

Indiana -7.5 @ Nebraska

This might be our biggest game of the season so far. We win 48 units if Nebraska makes the playoff. I would argue that’s more likely than not if they win this game. We also win 10 units if Indiana misses the playoff.

Iowa @ Washington -3.5

Washington under 6.5 wins +350 has been a great ticket. It’s more likely that not and will look phenomenal if they lose here.

UCLA @ Oregon -11.5

We win 20.5 units if UCLA makes the playoff. They’re undefeated and this is the toughest game left on their schedule.

Sacramento State @ Bowling Green -7.5

Our Sacramento State shorts have been our best trade of the season. They’re 1-4 and this is one of their most winnable games left.

Texas -7.5 vs. Oklahoma

We win 6.3 units if Texas misses the playoff. That is very much on the table if they lose here.

Sam Houston @ Liberty -13.5

It’s a long shot, but an upset here would be huge for us. We have an 80/1 ticket on Sam Houston to win CUSA, and a Liberty loss is great for our other CUSA tickets.

North Dakota State -3 @ UNLV

Not only do we have the North Dakota State alt line here, but our over 10.5 wins +285 ticket becomes quite likely with a win here.

LSU -8.5 @ Kentucky

Our LSU under will be in good shape if they lose here. An LSU loss also helps our long positions elsewhere on Big Ten teams.

Eastern Michigan -7 @ Akron

We’re on the EMU train now and this is one of their easier games.

South Florida @ UTSA -7

South Florida was a shaky 4-0 and took their first loss last week. We win 16 units if the bulls win the American and 5.2 if they win 10 games. This is their toughest remaining game.

Missouri State @ Western Kentucky -2.5

Our WKU shorts look great, they’re buried if they lose. We also have Missouri State to win CUSA at 28/1.

New Mexico State @ FIU -6.5

We win 19.5 units if FIU wins CUSA. They need to win games like this one to have a shot.

UCF @ Oklahoma State -9.5

Our over 8.5 +490 and over 9.5 wins +1000 tickets on Oklahoma State look live. We want them to keep taking care of business.

Minnesota -2.5 @ Purdue

Minnesota has been a great friend of the program the last two weeks. We’re long the Gophers and short the teams they’ve upset (Washington and Michigan). Let’s keep it going here.

Iowa State @ BYU -10.5

Iowa State is feisty and we win 5 units if they can win 7 games. That would be more likely than not if they pull this upset.

Louisiana @ Louisiana Tech -3

We win 9.8 units if Louisiana Tech wins the Sun Belt. This game could decide who wins the Sun Belt West and makes the conference title game.

Arizona -3 @ West Virginia

Not only do we have Arizona -2.5 here, but our WVU under 4.5 wins ticket gives us further exposure on the Wildcats.

Tulsa @ Navy -2.5

Some of the early season shine is off Tulsa. We’re still in decent shape on our alt win total over.

Duke -7 @ Georgia Tech

We win 17.5 units if Duke wins the ACC. A win here keeps them undefeated and on course for the ACC title game.

South Carolina @ Florida -12.5

Our South Carolina longs look doomed but a win here could resurrect them. We’re a bit short Florida now.

Syracuse @ Virginia -9.5

Syracuse is having an up and down year but we win 8 units if they can win 7 games. A win here goes a long ways to that.

Tulane @ Army -3.5

Our Army under 6.5 wins +225 looks solid and will be looking great if they lose here.
